The things we go through have the potential to change the way we see ourselves and the way we see the world around us. Sometimes we see ripples of it in our families and our friendships. The things we experience, don’t just impact the way we feel and think, sometimes it has a way of embedding itself deep in our bones. You see, we carry it with us- even when we’ve gotten so good at hiding the hurt and ignoring our pain.
I know some days it seems like you’re stuck and you just want a moment of peace. You’ve been carrying this pain for so long yet you continue to show up. That takes strength! The fact that you’re here now, tells me that you want to begin this journey of healing in spite of the fear and worry you may have. Try to listen to that part of you that knows you deserve the space to let go of the things that aren’t serving you well anymore.
Professional Experience
I truly believe that many of the challenges we encounter today are often rooted in the pain of our past. Through trauma informed and trauma-based treatment, I strive to create a safe and healing space that will allow for the exploration and processing of past trauma and adverse experiences. It is important that you know you are not alone and I will walk this journey with you. Often times we only focus on the behaviors we want to change, and I work to utilize trauma treatment and interventions to guide in exploring what may be driving those behaviors and process past traumas to help you begin the journey towards healing.
You already know that we can’t just go around those road blocks standing in the way between you and that life you’ve envisioned. I see it in the way you continue to show up and fight each day. I am here to walk along this path with you.
More recently, I have expanded my knowledge in order to provide treatment that is not only trauma informed but also holistic in nature. Trauma often has a way of impacting us on all levels- body, mind, and spirit. You are beautifully made and unique- your treatment should be reflection of that! I was drawn to Be Embodied because of this very reason. Be Embodied offers their staff the support needed to provide treatment that incorporates the whole person, allowing for the space to provide treatment that is both comprehensive and holistic.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have spent most of my time in the field as a child and family trauma therapist. I have been lucky to work with children, adolescents and young adults as well as their families to address challenges related to depression, complex trauma, family conflict, dissociation and traumatic grief. I am trained in several trauma treatments including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY). I am also a Level I Reiki Practitioner and utilize energy healing and yoga in my work with you.
The beauty of exploring and unpacking it all is that we make room and create space-
Space for resiliency. Space for growth. Space for self-love and worth.
